W2R were invited to a Midlands site with 24 hours notice from the Administrator. The owners had accumulated large stockpiles of waste in open yards and also within extensive buildings.
W2R’s role was to sit alongside Grant Thornton and the bank to ensure the best economic outcome for the site. This involved minimising waste disposal costs, maximising recycling and realising capital for end of life assets.
The assignment was complex as the clearance had to be undertaken under the scrutiny of the Environment Agency and local Environmental Health. The site was subject to a Regulation 36 Enforcement Notice and also infested with vermin.
In total some 7,500 tonnes of waste was removed from the site over a 16-week period.
W2R has recently been re-engaged to secure the surrender of the site’s Environment Permit.
