Following a call from Biffa in early May 2017, Clearland was informed of fly tipping at an ex Pipe Centre site in Manchester. The site had been blighted by fly tipping, with a significant quantity of waste being dumped over a short period of time, and pressure was being applied from the landlord for the waste to be removed. Biffa subcontracted the work to Clearland.
Clearland moved a total of 79 tonnes of mixed general waste both loose and baled. 14 grab wagon journeys were required to move the loose material, whilst Moffett equipped vehicles were deployed to handle the removal of bales and IBC’s.
Time was of the essence due to pressure being applied by the landlord of the property and the need for Wolsely Group to surrender the lease of the site is a clean condition; it was therefore essential that Clearland not only acted in a speedy manner but also ensured the safe and efficient removal and disposal of the waste. Full duty of care was carried out from the start to the end of the project and through this efficiency and due diligence, Clearland were able to clear the site within 72 hours, much to the satisfaction of the landlord.
