Clearland’s metal recycling and waste recycling services are available for site clearance projects and to all types of businesses in general. We aim to keep as much of your waste out of landfill as possible, and to provide you with competitive prices for your scrap metal and other valuable waste.
Metal recycling
We recycle metals from site clearance projects or provide a scheduled collection service throughout the UK which is fully auditable. Our scrap metal recycling processes use some of the most advanced equipment available, keeping costs to a minimum and enabling us to pay better rates for your material.
Municipal solid waste (MSW)
We take combustible components of municipal solid waste (MSW) that are otherwise unsuitable for traditional recycling and we shred, dry and bale them. The resulting RDF (Refuse Derived Fuel) can be burnt for electricity, providing a replacement for fossil fuels such as coal or oil. The RDF process makes use of waste that would otherwise be sent to landfill.
Selected commercial/industrial and municipal wastes can also be converted to Secondary Recovery Fuel (SRF) – usually the dry light fraction comprised of non-hazardous waste paper, cardboard, wood and plastic. This is a more highly refined fuel product in comparison to RDF.
Hazardous waste
Many site clearance projects involve the disposal of hazardous waste materials. This must be managed with great care to ensure all compliance regulation is met and the health and safety of site personnel is not compromised. We manage and dispose of hazardous waste materials, both for site clearance projects, industrial producers and smaller companies producing lower grade materials. We handle assessment, collection and final management, whether this is disposal or further recovery.
Concrete
Clearland provide a complete concrete crushing and recycling service, which includes assessing, removing and recycling all concrete from your site in a safe, efficient and cost-effective way (click here to find out more about our concrete crushing and recycling services).
Plasterboard
Where plasterboard is present on your site, we work closely with a large UK based reprocessor to recover the gypsum component which can then be used in the manufacture of cement.
Rubber
We recycle rubber waste from your site or business in a number of innovative ways. These include the use of cement kilns to turn redundant tyres into fuel and making use of tyre granulate for children’s playgrounds, carpet underlay, sports surfaces and street furniture.
Wood
Wood is a naturally environmentally sustainable product and we work closely with both UK and overseas processors to place your waste in markets that will recover its energy value or harvest it as a raw material for new products.
Plastics
We trade in all the main grades of plastics including PET, HDPE, LDPE films, Jazz, PVC, PS and PP, placing your materials in the most sustainable markets.
Paper and cardboard
We recycle cardboard and paper waste materials through a number of UK and overseas mills. Our experience allows us to place your recycled materials in markets that pay the most advantageous prices.
Batteries
Sometimes batteries can be present on waste sites where there are a number of old vehicles and machinery to dispose of. We handle battery recycling with all collected material transported safely and securely in line with industry and duty of care requirements.
